Privacy policy

Partners in Canadian Veterans Rehabilitation Services (PCVRS) has a commitment to protecting the personal information of all Rehabilitation Services and Vocational Assistance Program (Rehabilitation Program) Participants, employees, and contractors. The delivery of services for the Rehabilitation Program necessitates the collection, use and disclosure of personal information. Protecting that personal information is one of our highest priorities.

PCVRS complies with the privacy legislation within each province in which we operate. Privacy legislation and/or an individual’s right to privacy are different from one province to another, and rights and obligations may not be available to all individuals or in all jurisdictions.

PCVRS’s goal is to exceed the requirements of the Privacy Act, by implementing “best practices” with respect to the collection, use, disclosure, and security of personal information in our custody and control. Ensuring the protection of an individual’s privacy is a responsibility of all employees and contractors of PCVRS.

PCVRS requires that third-party service providers demonstrate full compliance with privacy obligations, principles and processes outlined in this policy.

PCVRS collects personal information as supplied by Participants and users in support of the services that we provide. Only information that relates directly to, and is necessary for, the operation of the Rehabilitation Program is collected. We do not collect personal information unlawfully or unfairly. In most circumstances, we collect personal information directly from the relevant individual. Indirect collection occurs in limited and specific circumstances with consent, or as required by law.

Collected personal information will be used by authorized PCVRS staff and communicated to VAC to fulfill the purpose for which it was originally collected, for specific purposes if directed by the individual from whom the personal information is being collected or our clients, or for a use consistent with the original purpose.

PCVRS does not sell, share or disclose your information

PCVRS applies the highest security standards to ensure that the personal information in our custody and/or control is always secure. Security measures include secure facilities, locked filing cabinets, limited user access, use of passwords, firewalls and encryption software.
