A PCVRS Rehabilitation Service Professional (RSP) is a trained and licensed health professional. They deliver rehabilitation focused services through VAC’s Rehabilitation Services and Vocational Assistance Program (RSVP). Their job is to help you achieve your rehabilitation goals and improve how you function at home, in the community and at work.

Our Diverse Team: Expertise for Every Need

PCVRS’ network includes a wide range of RSPs. Each brings specialized knowledge and skills to support your rehabilitation needs. Whatever your rehabilitation needs are, we have a qualified professional ready to work with you.

Our network includes:

  • Physiotherapists and Chiropractors: Help with mobility, strength, pain, and physical function.
  • Psychologists and Mental Health Providers: Support mental health, coping strategies, trauma recovery, and social connection.
  • Occupational Therapists: Assist with daily living activities, adaptive strategies, and returning to meaningful roles, like work or hobbies.
  • Kinesiologists: Focus on exercise, movement, and improving physical performance and well-being.
  • Vocational Rehabilitation Specialists: Help with career exploration, skill building, and return-to-work planning.
  • And many more specialized clinicians who contribute to your comprehensive and personalized care!

Your RSPs are hands-on rehabilitation experts. They assess your needs, provide treatments, and share updates about your progress. They also work closely with your Rehabilitation Service Specialist (RSS) to ensure your rehabilitation plan fits your goals.

Accreditation & Veteran-Specific Training

PCVRS RSPs are committed to excellent rehabilitation services for Canadian Veterans. When you work with a PCVRS RSP, you can be confident they meet the highest standards:

  • Accredited Professionals: Every RSP is licensed and certified in their field. They must be in good standing with their professional colleges. This means they follow strict ethical and professional standards.
  • Specialized Training: Beyond their professional training, PCVRS RSPs complete VAC-approved training. This unique training helps them understand:
    •  Veteran-specific needs
    • Military culture
    • Service-related injuries
    • VAC rehabilitation processes

Here's what you can expect from a PCVRS RSP:

  • Seamless Integration: PCVRS RSPs are familiar with VAC’s Rehabilitation Services and Vocational Assistance Program. They ensure your services are connected to your rehabilitation goals.
  • Veteran-focused Expertise: PCVRS RSPs understand the unique challenges, experiences, and strengths of Veterans, allowing them to provide personally tailored and effective rehabilitation services.
  • Efficiency and Clarity: Working with a PCVRS RSP means a streamlined experience. They are familiar with our processes, reporting templates, and communication channels, helping reduce administrative burden, and support clear, timely communication.
  • Collaborative Approach: PCVRS RSPs are part of a larger, coordinated team dedicated to your well-being. They work with your VAC Case Manager, your Rehabilitation Service Specialist (RSS), and other professionals to make sure everyone is working together to support your rehabilitation goals. This coordinated approach supports more consistent outcomes.
  • Quality Assurance: By working with a PCVRS RSP, you benefit from VAC approved quality assurance standards. You can trust that your care is delivered consistently and meets established quality expectations.
